Class Descriptions
Being asked to describe the group fitness classes at our Lubbock gym is like being asked to share an awesome vacation without pictures. But we’ll do our best.
GROUP FITNESS CLASSES
AQUA – AQUA is a great way to start your day! AQUA is taught in our heated pool and takes advantage of your body’s buoyancy in the water to deliver a low impact workout in a refreshing environment. Your instructor will lead you through drills designed to tone your muscles and increase your cardiovascular capacity without the wear-and-tear on your joints.
LES MILLS BODY PUMP – is a barbell workout for anyone looking to get lean, toned and fit – fast. Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, Body Pump gives you a total body workout. Instructors will coach you through scientifically proven moves and techniques pumping out encouragement, motivation, and great music.
LES MILLS CORE – Exercising muscles around the core, CORE™ provides the vital ingredient for a stronger body. A stronger core makes you better at all things you do from everyday life to your favorite sports – it’s the glue that holds everything together. All the exercises in CORE have options, so it’s challenging but achievable for your own level of fitness. During the 30- minute workout, trained instructors guide you through correct technique as you work with resistance tubes and weight plates, as well as body weight exercises like crunches, and hovers. You will also get into some hip, glute and lower back exercises.
LES MILLS TONE – is a mix of strength, cardio and core training designed to deliver a complete workout in 45 minutes.
HIGH FITNESS – Aerobics is back! Bigger, better, HIGHer! Experience more than just a workout. HIGH fitness is simple, intense, consistent, inclusive, and fun! HIGH gets participants addicted and coming back for more. HIGH takes old school aerobics to the next level with modern fitness techniques such as HIIT training, plyometrics, intervals of strength and cardio and more. You can go high or low, but you will always leave feeling HIGH!
PUMP INTERVAL – Pump Interval is an interval training format pairing barbell exercises with quick, intense bursts of aerobic exercise. This total body workout will increase your heart rate, strengthen and tone your muscles and set your body up to burn more calories throughout the day.
HIGH YO – HIGH YO is a music driven stretch class created to help people fall in love with stretching. This lighthearted format incorporates stretching, strength and balance to improve overall health and help participants see what a difference stretching can make in their life. Like HIGH fitness, HIGH YO was created to make you feel amazing, help you appreciate your body and become your authentic self. * source: www.highfitnesslive.com
STRONG – STRONG is a High Intensity Interval Training [HIIT] class using more traditional fitness moves for a more athletic, conditioning-style workout.
KICKBOXING – Kickboxing is a group fitness class that combines martial arts techniques with fast-paced cardio. This high-energy workout challenges the beginner and elite athlete alike. Build stamina, improve coordination and flexibility, and burn calories as you build lean muscle with this fun and challenging workout.
BARRE – A low impact class combining ballet-inspired moves with elements of Pilates and strength training. It is primarily focused on toning and strengthening the core and postural muscles of the lower body. Barre is a combination of cardio and strength with high reps of small range-of-motion movements using light weights.
ELEVATE – Elevate is designed to target muscle groups in ways you cannot with other group classes or free weights. This low impact, full body workout will torch calories utilizing a reformer machine that works against gravity. This is a class for everyone and perfect for all fitness levels
IGNITE – This total body format is designed and programmed by The Falls, fusing components of resistance and cardio training to create an exciting, innovative workout program. Each session combines elements of circuit training, high intensity interval training (HIIT) and functional strength training. No matter your fitness level our instructors will guide you through your workout to achieve maximum benefits while offering modifications as needed.
JUMP – JUMP is a 45 minute class focusing on flexibility, strength and power. Fast paced, non-impact cardio on the trampoline combined with strength exercises on the floor to target upper body, core and glutes.
SPIN – We offer a wide variety of Spin class formats, including Live Instructed, Virtual and Express rides. Group Spin options include freestyle Interval classes, Les Mills RPM and Les Mills The Trip. Our brand new, state of the art spin studio creates an energetic vibe with great music pumping and the group spinning as one. You will take a journey of climbs, sprints, races, and endurance riding.
YOGA (SLOW FLOW) – A Slow Flow Yoga practice focuses on relaxation through the use of blocks, bolsters, and blankets. Participants are guided through poses that gently stretch and support the body.
YOGA (VINYASA FLOW) – Vinyasa Flow Yoga is perfect for beginning yogis as well as experienced yogis looking for a new challenge. The class incorporates breath-work, strength, building movements, balance and flexibility woven together in a seamless flow.
PICKLEBALL – Pickleball is a fun sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. Pickleball is a paddle sport created for all ages and skill levels. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn but can develop into a quick, fast-paced and competitive game for experienced players.
